As an Azure Cloud Architect you will have an opportunity to collaborate with a team of skilled software developers and other IT professionals to design, architect, and implement solutions on the Azure Cloud platform.

Location: 176 S Post St, Spokane, WA, 99201. This role is open to a hybrid work schedule that includes both remote and onsite work.

The Azure Cloud Architect will have a strong background in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and hands-on experience with Azure services, demonstrating the capability to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable Azure-based solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and highly available Azure solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective cloud solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Software Development, DevOps, Information Security, and Infrastructure teams in the implementation of Azure-based solutions.
  • Mentor team members on best practices, design patterns, and Azure architecture including hands-on participation in the implementation process to meet enterprise goals.
  • Work with DevOps team on supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Pulumi.
  • Direct the automation of deployment, scaling, and management of Azure infrastructure.
  • Ensure that Azure solutions meet security and compliance requirements through proper design and validation after implementation.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for data encryption, identity management, and access controls.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for Azure services to ensure optimal performance in the interest of improving observability and traceability of enterprise applications.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement resource-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field required or related equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven/documented experience as a Cloud Architect with a focus on Azure.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Azure services, including but not limited to Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure API Manager, Azure AD, Azure AD B2C, etc.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep or Pulumi.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in Azure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people, managing conflict and negotiating for results when needed.
  • Hands-on software engineering experience in a role where you developed foundational architecture needed to support/scale software applications with reasons for your decisions.
  • Preferred experience and proficiency with:
    • DevOps practices and tools with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions a plus.
    • Implementing Service Oriented Architecture or Microservice solutions.
  • Networking concepts and Azure networking services.
  • Hybrid cloud solutions and on-premises integration.

Salary Range: $105,878 - $158,817

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
