Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

Integrated Power Services is seeking an HSE/CIPS Representative to join our team in the Central Region. In this role, you'll work closely with management at both the Regional and Site levels to develop strategies, establish annual objectives and metrics, improve review processes, and implement all aspects of the Continuous Improvement Operating System. Additionally, you'll be responsible for managing pay-for-skill and new employee training. This position requires proactive involvement with site leaders and staff to promote excellence in Continuous Improvement, Quality, Safety, Environmental Health, training, and other designated projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct safety training programs and regularly update Job Hazard Analysis using new communication methods and Lean tools. Implement 5S, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Establish a safety-focused discipline aimed at fostering a top-tier employee work environment, ensuring clear communication, and fostering engagement from all management levels.
  • Oversee all environmental and government reporting programs to maintain the highest standards of environmental awareness, waste disposal, and environmentally conscious purchasing practices.
  • Develop and execute safety, emergency, and security programs, including related training initiatives and materials.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify necessary skills and support team development efforts, ensuring appropriate personnel placement.
  • Actively participate and provide leadership in steering committees, safety council meetings, and senior-level presentations as required.
  • Provide support across all facets of the IPS EHS programs, including Workers' Compensation administration and management.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations, including tracking the completion of monthly safety training and drafting necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR department to implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage corporate-level contractor qualification systems such as ISNetworld and Avetta.
  • Ensure company EHS policies align with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate special safety and environmental initiatives and campaigns, as well as ad hoc reporting for regional and upper-level management.
  • Cultivate a culture of zero incidents among team members by demonstrating genuine care and passion for EHS.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional duties as required periodically.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Experience in a shop, manufacturing, and/or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental safety or business preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Continuous Improvement preferred.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability and determination to drive operational initiatives forward, utilizing performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor progress, and employing fact-based persuasion to influence key stakeholders.
  • Experience in balancing strategy and execution, with a willingness to be hands-on in the business while understanding the processes required to achieve results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite tools.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • Proven track record of attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Innovative, creative, and self-motivated with a team-oriented attitude.
